I attended sessions 1, 2, 4, and 5 and they were all fabulous. Sonic is doing great work by bringing young / relatively less known artists to forefront and more artists should take advantage of this help.
Today's younger clasical musicians work hard and display ability to multi-task. They not only focus on their core craft skills, but recognize that marketing is important too, and most also develop other careers/sources of income.
Among the vocalists, Ramakant Gayakwad and Rajani Ramachandran were very well-prepared and drew out their strengths well. They have a great future.
Marketing of this event, especially in the local community (Kothrud/Deccan itself) could have been better and that would have increased the turnout. The way forward for classical music is more artists, more live concerts at many more locations across cities, and lots of local marketing in the community.
