About the artists:
Praveen Sheolikar : Born in 1964 in a family of reputed musicians, Praveen started learning music at the tender age of 9 under the tutelage of his grandfather late Rambhau Sheolikar of Raipur, himself an accomplished musician. A rigorous training then followed under the tutelage of his father, Shri V R Sheolikar, a violinist of repute and a regular broadcaster of AIR, when young Praveen learnt the technique and finer aspects of violin playing and developing a style of his own.

As early as in 1976, Praveen received the coveted National Talent Search Scholarship. In 1985 he received a gold medal in AIR's All India Akashwani Music Competition. On academic front also Praveen has done remarkably well having secured a first class Master's Degree in Science.

Praveen plays violin with the more difficult of styles, "Gayaki", which bears his own distinct touch. It has all the softness and sweetness one can look for. His treatment of raags is always traditional and disciplined, keeping their purity intact with total control on Sur and Taal.

Sameer Dubaly: A professional vocalist in the Hindustani Classical tradition, he began voice culture and music theory with Pandit Rambhau Mate in Pune, in 1980, at the age of 12. After learning the basics of Indian Music, he went on to take advance training in performance theory and technique with Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, one of the greatest masters of the Agra Gharana in 1989. Sameer went on to become one of the favoured disciples of Panditji, who wholeheartedly acquainted him with the nuances of various raagas and performance techniques. Sameer is at present learning from the renowned Guru and Musicologist Dr Ashok Da. Ranade.
