A program titled ‘Ek Hotya Shantabai’ will be organized in the memory of Shanta Shelke to mark her death anniversary this year. The program includes her poetry, prose, biographical works, translations, popular songs that depict her proficiency and versatility. It will be presented in the form of a collage of all the different avenues of literature that she explored, from stories to songs. Dr Sameer Kulkarni has organized the program but it will be presented by Rahul Solapurkar and Pournima Manohar. Vibhawari Apte-Joshi, Hrishikesh Ranade, Prajakta Ranade and Pramod Ranade of Sa Re Ga Ma fame will render some of Shantabai’s evergreen melodies such as ‘Hi waat door jaate’, ‘Jeewalaga rahile re door ghar maze’ and ‘Toch Chandrama nabhat’ among others.
