Victoria Aja was born in Vizcaya, Spain. She began her musical studies in Bilbao and continued later in Madrid at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música with Manuel Carra (a pupil in the direct line of Manuel de Falla).
She has won a number of prizes in Spain, including the Luis Coleman International Competition for Spanish Music at the age of 18. Ms. Aja has played worldwide. She performed in a tour all the piano music by Manuel de Falla in Spain, London, Manchester, Leeds, Paris, and Cairo in commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Manuel de Falla, to great critical and public acclaim. She has recorded numerous CDs. Her recent engagements include a debut recital at Wigmore Hall in London, a tour of Argentina and Uruguay, and recitals in Italy and Spain.
