Kalidas Vilas

Venue: Sudarshan Rangmanch, Near Ahilyadevi School, Shaniwar Peth, Pune
11 July, 630 PM

This is a unique concert of dance and music on Sanskrit literature. It is based on the literary works of poet Kalidas. It has been conceptualized and conceived by composer and musicologist Shri. Chaitanya Kunte.

Aparna Kelkar and Mayur Mahajan will recite Kalidas' poetic verses. Madhura Godbole will enact their finer nuances. Famous danseuse Sandhya Dharma has choreographed pieces on 'Meghdutam' and 'Ritu-Samharam'.

The first day of Hindu month 'aashadh' is supposed to be when rain begins. It also has significance as it is celebrated in the name of mahakavi Kalidas. A perfect excuse to delight in poet's enriching work.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I was very interested to read about this concert. I am a recent Sanskrit graduate from Oxford currently working in Bangalore. I run a Sanskrit Literature Forum (www.venetiaansell.wordpress.com)which is designed to promote innovative new interpretations of Sanskrit texts and contemporary Sanskrit writing. I would be really keen to get in touch with the organisers/artists of the Kalidas Vilas production to see if they might be willing to share their views and experiences in an interview for the forum.
Could you suggest how to contact them?
Thank you very much,
