ग़ज़ल का सफ़र A common and popular form of music in the Sub-Continent, Ghazal is also a poetic recitation. However, today it is commonly conceived of as an Urdu song whose prime importance is given to the lyrics. Ghazal Ka Safar is conceived as a show which would revisit the evolution of this form of poetry and recall some popular master pieces through live rendition on stage. It provides a musical visage to the poetry of the maestros, reintroducing this most popular light classical musical form to the audiences . Poets like Mir Taqi Mir, Mirza Ghalib, Daagh Dehlvi, Momin Khan Momin, Akbar Allahabadi, Makhdoom Mohiddeen, Ahmad Faraaz among others are featured in this show. A nostalgic trip for those who have savored the poetry of the subcontinent through various recorded versions, the show also showcases some of the popular compositions over the years sung by several eminent artistes like Mehdi Hassan ,Ghulam Ali,Begum Akhtar and Jagjit Singh to name a few. The show also The show is presented by two very talented singers Mr.Dattaprasad Ranade. (desciple of ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan) & Savani Ravindra. The script has been written by Mr. Salim Arif . This musical journey also places Ghazal as the foremost of lyrical forms with nuances of meaningful language taking centre stage again. या कार्यक्रमात भाटे यांना राजीव परांजपे (ऑर्गन), प्रसाद जोशी (तबला), नंदू भांडवलकर (पखवाज) साथ करणार आहेत, तर माउली टाकळकर टाळवादनाने या अभंगगायनामध्ये रंग भरला जाणार आहे. लहानपणीच आपल्या मधुर गायनाने 'आनंद गंधर्व' हा किताब पटकाविलेला नूमवि प्रशालेचा विद्यार्थी आनंद भाटे यांनी पं. यशवंतबुवा मराठे यांच्याकडे गायनाचे प्राथमिक शिक्षण घेतले. त्यानंतर 1988 पासून पं. भीमसेन जोशी यांच्याकडे शास्त्रीय गायनाचे शिक्षण घेतले. चंद्रशेखर देशपांडे यांच्याकडून त्यांना नाट्यगीतांचे मार्गदर्शन मिळाले आहे.
कार्यक्रमाविषयी भाटे म्हणाले, 'पं. भीमसेनजी या माझ्या गुरुजींची "संतवाणी' मी ऐकली आहे. या कार्यक्रमाला त्यांनी आपल्या अलौकिक स्वरांनी उंचीवर नेऊन ठेवले आहे. त्या पातळीपर्यंत पोचण्यास मला किती जन्म लागतील देव जाणे; पण त्यांच्याकडून जे शिकता आले ते लोकांपर्यंत सादर करण्याचा माझा प्रामाणिक प्रयत्न आहे. शास्त्रीय संगीताचा पाया असलेल्या अभंगगायनाच्या माध्यमातून भक्तिभाव हा नकळतपणे शास्त्रीय गायन न कळणाऱ्यांपर्यंत पोचतो. "जय जय राम कृष्ण हरी' या गजरापासून सुरवात करून या तीन दिग्गजांचे अभंग सादर करणार आहे. एखादे हिंदी किंवा कानडी भजनदेखील सादर करण्याचा मानस आहे.

But his interest in percussion was nurtured by his father, one of the most revered teacher and practitioner of the art of tabla playing. In following his father’s footsteps, Satyajit has become a masterful accompanist to instrumental and vocal music. But he is also recognized as a solo artist, and is at ease in performing as a member of taal vadya kacheri (ensemble of Indian percussionists) and his duets with Western drum ensemble have received critical acclaim.

TAPASYAA - celebrating International Women’s Day
We frequently come across events felicitating musicians for their success and contribution in the field of Hindustani music. But seldom do we find an event that specially focuses and recognizes the role of the woman behind this success and contribution. It is in this context that last year, on March 8th 2009, Baithak music foundation and Janmada Pratisthan, Pune felicitated Smt. Asha Chandrakant Kamat, Smt. Indira Chintamani Vyas and Dr. Saroj Maheshgauri (Superintendent, Cama Hospital). This felicitation is representative of all those women who have always stood behind their family, unrecognized. Tapasyaa is a humble attempt on our part to express gratitude to every such woman.
This year we have decided to express our gratitude towards Smt. Vatsala Digambar Thatte. She will be felicitated by renowned theatre artist Pandit Prabhakar Panshikar. Here, we also take an opportunity to recognize the Tapasyaa of Dr. Arawind Thatte who is the son of Smt.Vatsala Thatte and also a very renowned and respected harmonium artist.
