About the artist: Shashwati Mandal Paul (Sasha) is a beautiful, young and versatile khayal singer from Bhopal, India, whose voice seems to conquer the hearts of the connoisseurs of classical music. Music flows through the veins of this gifted Hindustani vocalist. She also has a clear, timbre voice perfect for this type of music. A fine exponent of the Gwalior style, Shashwati’s musical adeptness has lent her an individualistic style at a fairly young age. Shashwati seems all set to emerge as one of the future faces of Indian classical music for her complete command over her unique voice and a wide range of variations in her presentation.

Baajaa Gaajaa 2010

Music will be making its way to the hearts of music lovers from February 5. Renowned vocalist Shubha Mudgal and percussionist Aneesh Pradhan were present in the city on Tuesday to announce the three-day music expo-cum-festival on Indian music, Baajaa Gaajaa 2010.

The event will have more than 50 performances and will be inaugurated by santoor maestro Shivkumar Sharma. The event will held between 10 am and 10 pm on all three days at Ishanya Mall, Yerawada.
